Description

Many of North America’s most beloved regions are artfully celebrated in these boardbooks designed to soothe children before bedtime while instilling an early appreciation for the continent’s natural and cultural wonders. Each book stars a multicultural group of people visiting the featured area’s attractions—such as the Rocky Mountains in Denver, the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Lake Ontario in Toronto, and volcanoes in Hawaii. Rhythmic language guides children through the passage of both a single day and the four seasons while saluting the iconic aspects of each place.

Summary: "Fun tourist or trip planning item"

This is a fun little book. The reviewer who was upset that this book isn't deep literature seems to have missed the point. This isn't the next great children's book for the ages, and doesn't intend to be. It's a fun little book that shows off some of the cool things around Seattle, saying "good day" or "good evening" or "good night" to each one. Yes, it's a formula, but it works, and the illustrations are great.

We received this book as a gift to our child while visiting friends there, and it was interesting to look through it and see some of the things we'd already done, or intended to do, and got some ideas for next time. If you're getting a kid excited about a trip and want to involve them in planning a bit it's not a bad way to present some of the neat things about Seattle. We'll probably pick up some of the other books in the series before our next trip.

Summary: "Good night literacy..."

This book is an insult to children's literature. The inherent lack of creativity in the usage of the english language is disturbing and an insult to the growing imaginative minds that we need to encourage in our children, so that they can be successful orators as they learn and mature.

Summary: "great book!"

This series of books is great. When I learned they had different cities I bought a bunch, including the Seattle one for my best friend's two boys. I also got them the Good Night Philadelphia book since both mom and dad grew up in the Philly area. What a great way to introduce Geography to kids!
